How do we collect data from you?
We obtain information about you when you apply and become an approved training centre, or you apply for our PCV register or an NVT Concession. We also collect data on trainers who are delivering approved training and any individual data by telephone, email or via our website contact forms.
What type of data is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address and in some cases your driving licence number. If you make a payment to us, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third-party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions.
How is your information used?
We may use your information to:
- process a complaint made;
- process any applications you have submitted;
- to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered by you and us;
- seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
- notify you of changes to our services;
- send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These may include information about changes/updates to our services, alerts to system issues, events we are running, reminder notices and new guidance;
- an approved centre who has signed up to being published on our website maybe contacted by third party suppliers;
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory and contractual obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or if is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
Who has access to your information?
Your data will be shared with DVSA/DVA.
We will not sell your information to third parties but if you are an approved centre who has signed up to being published on our website you may be contacted by third parties.
Limited data access is also provided to our field based Quality Assurance Auditors through a secure web portal.
You have a choice about whether you wish to receive information from us unless you are a Primary or Responsible Centre contact. If you do not want to receive communications from us, then you can contact us at email@example.com or telephone us on 01908 787000 to let us know which of the following types of communications you do/do not wish to receive from us:
- Focus Group information
- Technical updates
We will not contact you by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted.
How you can access, delete and update your information
The accuracy of your information is important to us. If you are an approved centre you can access the information we hold about you using your sign in facility on our website. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information JAUPT hold about you.
Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information is protected and secured.
