Description

The objectives of the TruckSmart course are for drivers to be able to: 1. Appreciate the moral, economic and legal importance of roadworthy and safely loaded vehicles 2. Understand the roles and responsibilities within the HGV safety system 3. Implement the tasks and procedures needed for the HGV safety system 4. Apply the principles of safe loading 5. Understand the elements of a good load security system and the different types and uses of load restraints 6. Mitigate the effects of loads on driving and operational performance 7. Understand the roles and responsibilities of regulatory and enforcement bodies 8. Recognise the risks, consequences and penalties for driving an unroadworthy or unsafely loaded vehicle
