Description
To give PCV drivers the knowledge and confidence to provide the best possible service and support to customers who have many forms of varying disabilities and ensure the customers are treated with compassion and respect from the moment they board the bus to when they alight. To ensure that bus and coach drivers always take a professional approach and ensure that their customers have a pleasant, safe and trouble-free journey. The trainer is to cover issues including understanding Others. Needs & Making Reasonable Adjustments, Case Studies & Solutions. Provide an understanding of the definitions of accessibility and inclusivity. Drivers understanding of the company's responsibilities allowing safe access to PSVs for people of all abilities, including people with disabilities. To recognise what is required to provide reasonable assistance to disabled people, including wheelchair users, to board and alight and how to react to various situations and differing work situations to ensure that people with disabilities are safe and catered for. How to comply with the regulations when equipment has failed and how to use equipment in an emergency.
