Description

Candidates will have full understanding of the drivers CPC, when it was introduced, who it affects and why. this section will also cover the initial CPC and case studies. candidates will all understand how the CPC works, how to check their hours, when they can obtain CPC and also the requirements on working and carrying their DQC cards. this section is aimed at updating PCV and LGV drivers with a solid understanding of what the drivers CPC is aiming to achieve.
Candidates will be informed about the driving regulations concerning LGV and PCV drivers for UK domestic an EU regulations.
The EU regulations covers standard driving, rest, weekly rest, extended driving hours, double manning, ferry crossing, split rest, reduced rest. the course will have interactive exercises integrated to keep the candidates fully involved and learning. the candidates will have good knowledge and better understanding after this course.
PCV and LGV drivers will be updated on the working time directive, how it affects their working day and the breaks required, also how they work alongside the drivers hours regulations. this will also cover night work.
Candidates will be involved in a practical course on analogue tachograph's demonstrating abilities to completing disks, also told how to change vehicles.
Candidates will receive information on tachograph calibration checks and service inspection for analogue and digital.
Candidates will learn how to use a digital tachograph and understand the digital tachograph cards. they will learn how to read print outs and understand the storage of digital cards and tachograph machines/head.
Procedure to follow if a PCV or LGV candidate looses their Digital tachograph card.
Also the candidates will be informed of the penalties and infringements for driving and tachograph offenses, they will gain a large amount of knowledge and information to keep drivers legally safe. Teesside LGV Training will also supply hand out material for the candidates to take away so they have guidance in the future.
