Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)

Description

By the end of the training, the driver will be able to:
1. Describe and explain the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
2. Assess an incident and establish whether it is safe to carry out first aid on a casualty.
3. Conduct a primary survey of a casualty in relation to danger, response, airway and breathing.
4. Deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
5. Deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing.
6. Administer first aid to a casualty in the following scenarios: choking, suffering from internal / external bleeding, shock, head/spinal injuries, burns, sudden poisoning, anaphylaxis, heart attack, epilepsy & sepsis.
