Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)

Description

By the end of this module HGV and PCV will have a clear understanding of:
Emergency First Aid Awareness: Basic emergency first aid principles and appropriate actions to take at the scene of an incident involving HGV and PCV until qualified assistance arrives (this does not constitute full emergency first aid at work certification).
Fire Prevention and Safety: Fire prevention measures, emergency procedures, and the correct use of fire extinguishers relevant to HGV/PCV vehicles and associated workplaces.
Health and Safety Responsibilities: The roles and responsibilities of employers and HGV/PCV drivers under the health and safety at work ACT 1974, including safe working practices, legal compliance and the reporting of hazards, incidents and risks.
