Description
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider, including legal, ethical, and organisational requirements.
• Assess an incident safely and systematically, identifying hazards, risks, and the appropriate course of action.
• Manage a casualty who is breathing normally, ensuring effective monitoring, reassurance, and appropriate positioning.
• Carry out or support cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with current guidelines and best practice.
• Manage a casualty with external bleeding, applying suitable first aid techniques to control and minimise blood loss.
• Provide appropriate care to a casualty who is in shock or choking, using recognised first aid procedures to stabilise their condition.
• Treat and manage minor injuries, including small wounds, grazes, and minor burns, using correct first aid method
