Description
On completion of the course, learners will be able to: Understand the responsibilities and legal requirements of a workplace first aider, including health and safety considerations and infection control procedures. Conduct a scene assessment safely, perform a primary survey, and identify life-threatening conditions. Demonstrate effective CPR techniques and correctly use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Manage an unconscious casualty, including appropriate use of the recovery position. Recognise and treat choking casualties using the correct sequence of actions. Administer first aid for bleeding and wounds, including the control of severe and minor bleeding, and treatment for shock. Respond appropriately to common medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and anaphylaxis. Provide continued care and reassurance to casualties while awaiting emergency services. Demonstrate competence in practical first aid tasks, meeting the required assessment standards for CPC-approved first aid training.
