Objectives of the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

* Describe the role, responsibilities, and limitations of a workplace first aider in line with UK health and safety legislation.
* Assess emergency situations safely, identify hazards, and take appropriate action.
* Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty, including placing them in the recovery position and performing CPR.
* Recognise and respond effectively to choking, severe bleeding, and shock.
* Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and correctly.
* Manage common minor injuries and illnesses until professional help is available.
* Communicate effectively with emergency services and casualties.
* Record and report first-aid incidents accurately in accordance with workplace procedures.
