Description

By the end of the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, participants will be able to:

Understand the role of the first aider, including their responsibilities and how to assess an emergency situation effectively.
Administer first aid to an adult casualty who is unconscious, including performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) if available.

Recognise and respond to common workplace injuries and illnesses, such as minor cuts, burns, fractures, and sprains.
Identify and manage life-threatening conditions, including choking, severe bleeding, and shock.

Assess the need for professional medical assistance and ensure the casualty's safety until emergency services arrive.

Maintain accurate incident records and comply with workplace health and safety regulations related to first aid.

Use and manage first aid equipment appropriately for low-risk workplace environments.
