Description
1. Drivers will leave the course with a well rounded knowledge of all relevant legislation and be able to work in a safe and efficient manner whilst driving and operating HGV's in the Brick & Block distribution sector. Particular emphasis will be made in regard to; H&S, load security, vehicle roadworthiness, drivers hours rules, protection of VRUs & driver distractions.
2. Drivers will understand the importance of personal welfare, in particular; eyesight, impairment & medical conditions notifiable to the DVLA.
3. Drivers will leave the course equiped to ensure the safety of themselves and others whilst at work.
4. Drivers will leave the course with up to date knowledge of The Highway Code & mobile phone legislation changes.
5. Drivers will receive the generic induction training required by Tarmac & Aggregate Industries (two of the main companies in the Brick & Block industry sector).
