Description

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Road Safety Fundamentals
Demonstrate improved knowledge of road safety principles and accident prevention strategies. Understand the impact of driver behaviour on public safety and environmental risk
Traffic Systems & Road Types
Identify different types of roads and traffic systems, including urban layouts and traffic calming measures. Recognise various transport modes and how they interact within the road network
Vulnerable Road Users
Understand the needs and risks associated with vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, horse riders, children, and animals. Apply safe driving practices to protect these groups in varied traffic environments
Defensive & Predictive Driving
Apply defensive driving techniques to anticipate and respond to unpredictable situations. Observe speed limits, traffic signals, and road conditions with heightened awareness.
Distraction Management
Recognise the dangers of distracted driving, including mobile device use, eating, and confrontational behaviour. Implement strategies to maintain focus and professionalism behind the wheel
Environmental & Situational Awareness
Adapt driving behaviour to suit different road conditions, weather, and traffic density. Promote safety for all road users through proactive observation and responsible decision-making.
