Description

By the end of this course the delegates will be able to
The factors which impact upon fuel efficiency in a Large Goods Vehicle and how to maximise
efficiency through taking appropriate measures and adoption of appropriate techniques.
The relevant road risk factors in terms of driver fitness, health and behaviour and the measures
they need to take to eliminate or mitigate those risks
The priorities in a road traffic collision scenario and respond accordingly
The risks involved in driving an HGV in hazardous weather conditions and the appropriate action
to be taken.
They will be able to
-explain the moral, economic and legal reasons for safe driving
-Adopt the qualities and professionalism needed to improve road safety
-Share the road safely by applying defensive driving techniques
-Reduce road risk in rural, urban and motorway environments
-Describe the vehicle technology and equipment that improves road safety
