By the end of the course, drivers will be able to:
Understand and apply the rules of assimilated EU Drivers’ Hours Regulation 561/2006.
Correctly complete manual entries, rest periods, additional work, and record-keeping.
Identify Operator Licence responsibilities and the driver’s role in compliance.
Demonstrate correct tachograph simulator use and recognise common errors.
Working Time Directive (WTD)Explain daily and weekly working time limits and how they integrate with assimilated EU Drivers’ Hours.
Recognise how breaks, periods of availability, and extended duties apply in practice.
Apply WTD requirements to real driving and loading/unloading scenarios
.Bulk Flour Tanker Assembly, Dismantling & Reassembly
Safely assemble bulk flour tankers, using correct PPE and hygiene procedures.
Identify contamination risks and understand allergen‑control responsibilities
.Properly dismantle tanker components for cleaning, following COSHH rules and wet‑clean protocols
.Reassemble the tanker correctly and complete defect reporting using tankwash check sheets
.Safe Loading & Hygiene Integrity
Understand hygiene requirements for bulk food transport, including seals, surfaces, and closure systems.
Inspect and identify good and poor practice (e.g., damaged seals, incorrect lid closure).Demonstrate the correct use of Encrypta and lid locking systems.
Recognise the consequences of incorrect setup at customer silos, including over‑pressure, product loss, and risk of tanker or silo failure.
Apply safe blowing pressures and equipment configuration procedures.
Conduct safe on-site operations using best practice and learned examples.
