e of the course is for candidates to achieve the required skillset and be able to preserve life, prevent worsening and promote the recovery of casualties they may encounter during their everyday working, and private life.
Each module within this course includes learning outcome which are relevant to first aid at work regulations 1981, appendix 5 and 6.
The specific object of this module is for candidates to be able to:
Recognise a suspected fracture, dislocation, sprain or strain.
Know how to administer first aid for a casualty with a suspected fracture or dislocation.
Know how to apply a support sling, and an elevated sling
Know how to recognise concussion, compression and fractured skull.
Know how to recognise a spinal injury.
Be able to correctly administer first aid to a casualty who has a head or spinal injury
